City of Dublin Debuts Envision Dublin Community Plan

(Dublin, OH) Following 18 months of engagement and research, the City of Dublin released the Envision Dublin Community Plan that will serve as a roadmap to direct future growth and development over the next 20 years.
Last updated in 2013, the Envision Dublin Community Plan focuses on community engagement, coordination with other strategic plans and policies, surrounding jurisdictions and six Special Area Plans.

The City worked with Houseal Lavigne, a community planning and urban design consulting firm, to inform and update the Community Plan. Twenty community members, including two members of Dublin City Council, were part of a steering committee that guided the Plan update. More than 5,300 points of public connections were part of the plan’s community engagement, including public meetings, workshops, surveys, social media and community events.

“The Envision Dublin Community Plan is a crucial document that guides the City’s growth in a strategic and fiscally responsible manner. The plan details ‘what we heard’ and the community’s vision for how and where to live, work and interact within the City,” says Director of Community Planning & Development Jennifer Rauch. “We’re grateful for the work of our Steering Committee, and our residents and business owners who shared their thoughts and ideas for Dublin’s future.”

Highlights from the Envision Dublin Community Plan update include the creation of a multimodal thoroughfare plan, incorporation of character-defining mixed-use categories, diversification of economic-generating land use, and prioritization of greenways.

The Community Plan integrates with the City’s Strategic Framework and coordinates with the City’s other plans and studies, including the Parks and Recreation Master Plan, Dublin Area Housing Study, Economic Development Strategic Plan, Metro Center Revitalization, West Passenger Rail Study and Riverside Crossing Park Master Plan.
